Plus: Filmmaker Intro/Post Q&A
Sunday, August 25th @ 11AM at The Art Theatre of Long Beach
Vannen Watches, Epitaph Records, and the Art Theatre [2025 E. 4th, Long Beach] are excited to bring FILMAGE: The Story of DESCENDENTS/ALLto Southern California for a FREE fan screening on Sunday, August 25th at 11AM at the Art Theatre [2025 E. 4th Street, LBC 90814].
Long before Green Day and Blink-182 inflicted punk-rock’s puncture wound on the map of mainstream music, the Descendents were in a garage concocting the perfect mix of pop, angst, love, and coffee. FILMAGE: The Story of DESCENDENTS/ALL follows band leader/drummer/square-peg Bill Stevenson and his “caffeinated retardedness” as he pushes his rotating door of bandmates to “achieve ALL,” his philosophy of going for greatness at all costs. Stevenson is a force to be reckoned with, proving that not even a grapefruit-sized brain tumor can keep him down. Featuring interviews with the band, along with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Mike Watt (Minutemen), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion) and many more reveal the story of a band – if not THE band – responsible for pop-punk as you know it.

RETOX RELEASE BLOODY NEW VIDEO FOR ‘MATURE SCIENCE’
(March 27th, Los Angeles, CA) The provocative SoCal band RETOX have unleashed a brand new video, a heart – stopping thriller that portrays the band’s kinetic, challenging energy in their latest track release, “MATURE SCIENCE.” Combining the jagged edges of stripped down/back-to-basics rock n’ roll with bombastic attitude and art-rock intelligentsia, using the prism of the past to look toward the potential brilliance of the future, RETOX’s YPLL arrives via Epitaph Records on May 7th, 2013.
Directed by Simon Chan, the new video features the band in a riot-like scenario, where the band kidnaps a police officer and brings him to an undisclosed location. The disturbing story unfolds in 2:47 minutes, ending in an intense, bloody scene that can only be fully realized by watching the video.
Check out the new video via Lambgoat.com here: http://lambgoat.com/features/69/Retox-Mature-Science-video-premiere
Guitarist Michael Crain offers, “Retox does not in any way condone or advocate the harming of police officers. We do however feel that our society as a whole would be far safer and not as unjustly regulated if local, state, and federal law enforcement were required to memorize the lyrics to Black Flag’s “Police Story” and N.W.A’s “Fuck tha Police!”
Retox deliver a mission statement in 12 blistering tracks, the vast majority of them clocking in at two minutes or less. It’s the type of rallying battle cry that inspires lingering and dormant primal urges and too-long-suppressed societal dissatisfaction in those who encounter its punk rock lineage and postmodern crash-and-ban.
In May, the band will take their energetic live performance across North America.
PRE-ORDERS are now live for RETOX’s YPLL, which will arrive in-stores and online on May 7th. Please go to: www.kingsroadmerch.com/epitaphrecords

Bring Me The Horizon – Shadow Moses
The UK’s biggest heavy music exports, Bring Me The Horizon have released new music video “Shadow Moses” from their highly anticipated new album Sempiternal out April 30th via Epitaph Records. With a history of creating beautiful, visually stunning and compelling imagery alongside their magnificently fierce sound, “Shadow Moses” takes Bring Me The Horizon to the next level of music video artistry.
Check out the video for “Shadow Moses” here:
Shot on the snowy and foggy shoreline of Germany’s largest island, Rugen, the performance video for “Shadow Moses” takes from the song’s lyrical theme of “going nowhere” and creates an abstract and fragmented narrative that cues fans about to what’s to come in the next BMTH video. On a technical side, the video was shot with a “camera – shift technique” developed by director, Fabian Röttger, that gives the viewer a 3D like experience without the need of special screen or glasses.
Loaded with churning guitar riffs and boasting an anthemic chorus that captures the track’s heavy mood, it’s certainly a powerful first look at what’s to come. – PureVolume
3D is rad! You should too.
You like 3D? Yes you are!
No, seriously, check out the new 3D video from Downtown Struts, seriously!

EVA – Pro-Wrestling is Real; People Are Fake
The band EVA has posted their music video for their song “Pro-Wrestling is Real; People Are Fake.” Rick Jimenez of This Is Hell makes a cameo both on the song and in the video and it’s…interesting to say the least.
