SOCIAL DISTORTION INVITE FANS TO DEMAND RED CARPET VIDEO PREMIERE IN THEIR CITY

April 5, 2011 – Los Angeles, CA – In celebration of the massive success behind their latest single “Machine Gun Blues,” rock ‘n’ roll icons Social Distortion and Epitaph Records have partnered up with radio stations across the country to throw an exclusive red carpet premiere event for the single’s cinematic short film debut….and they’re letting the fans choose which city!

Beginning today, fans are invited to visit www.socialdistortion.com to share the film’s breathtaking trailer via Facebook or Twitter as many times possible. The city with the most shares will win a free red carpet short film premiere and secret performance from the band. Social Distortion is also rewarding top sharers and fans of radio stations across the country with over 40 fly away trips to the winning city to experience the event. Set to the scene of a 1930’s bank robbery, “Machine Gun Blues” finds gangster outlaws Social Distortion on the run from the Feds following an epic heist worthy of Public Enemy and White Heat. Beautifully shot at the famous Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and surrounding areas, cameras roll on the band of thieves as they’re chased through dusty roads leading to their hideout for a final showdown with the G-men.

Fans are encouraged to call their local radio station and request “Machine Gun Blues” to be played if their local station isn’t among the participating partners.

Blood For Blood announces first US show in over 6 years and gears up for another European Tour

After a very successful European Tour in December 2010, as part of the 2010 Persistence Tour with Sick Of It All, Unearth Official, Evergreen Terrace and more, Blood For Blood announces that they’ll be performing at the New England Metal Fest on April 15th in Worcester, MA, which is the bands first US show in over 6 years.

A few days after this long-awaited US show Blood For Blood will kick off a short European run including a performance at Belgium’s Groezrock Festival on April 23rd. Blood For Blood will be joined by Crushing Caspars and My City Burning.

The Shirts for a Cure Project is very excited to announce this year’s SXSW day party will feature Paint It Black, Fake Problems, BANE, Title Fight, Riverboat Gamblers Dave Hause and The Flatliners. This FREE event will be held at Red 7 (611 East 7^th Street) on Friday March 18th, doors open at noon sharp. Donations will be collected at the door and are strong encouraged.

This is the sixth year Shirts for a Cure has produced a showcase for SXSW. Performers in the past have included My Chemical Romance, Hot Water Music, The Bouncing Souls, 7 Seconds, Circa Survive, Head Automatica, Lifetime and many more. This years show promises to be one of the best.

The Frustrators Return

The Frustrators, the longstanding, bi-coastal punk rock 4-piece, featuring New England punk-rock hustlers Jason Chandler (vocals, artwork), Terry Linehan (guitar, backing vocals) and Art Tedeschi (drums), and Cali-raised fourth man and bassist, Green Day’s Mike Dirnt, are set to release the Griller EP on Adeline Records on February 15 (available digitally Feb 22.)

Civet Love & War Due Out Feb 22

January 12, 2011 – Los Angeles, CA – LA rock band Civet have announced plans to release their fourth studio album, Love & War, via Hellcat Records on February 22. Fans can check out the album’s first single, “L.A. Nights,” now at http://soundcloud.com/hellcatrecords/civet-l-a-nights. The album will also be available on vinyl at a later date.

Led by provocative sisters Liza Graves and Suzi Carmichael, Civet hold the torch once held by such groundbreaking female-fronted bands as The Runaways, Bikini Kill, L7, Hole and The Distillers, with the release of their fearless new studio album Love & War.

“Recording the new record was very liberating; we knew what we wanted and went for it!” says Graves. “Our choruses are bigger and badder than the last record, coupled with blazing guitar solos & raw vocals everyone has come to love; that combination of Motörhead grit and ‘77 raw power. There are various influences that can be heard on all the songs, so the whole record doesn’t reflect one particular era or genre. We weren’t afraid to pull from all scopes of the musical spectrum when writing this record.”

After their Hellcat debut, Hell Hath No Fury, in 2008, Civet took the world by storm, touring Europe, Japan and North America extensively with such greats as Flogging Molly, H20, The Adicts, Dropkick Murphys, The Pogues and the Vans Warped Tour. The album received rave reviews from critics and fans and created a whirlwind of press for the band, and anticipation for their follow-up has been mounting ever since.

Civet spent the last several years on the road refining the band’s direction, and when it came time to record their follow up to Hell Hath No Fury decided to forgo an outside producer and record the album themselves. “We knew the vision we had for this record better than anybody, so we decided to go for it!” says Carmichael.
And the result is Love and War, 14 daring and unapologetic tracks about relationships gone wrong, shattered dreams and their journey to where they are today. With a matured sense of reality, the girls dug deeper than ever have before and translated their experiences over the past few years into soul wrenching lyrics and choruses on the new album. “On this record, Suzi and I not only found our voice, but we rediscovered our punk rock ‘n’ roll roots,” says Graves.

Armed with Graves’ trademark deep raspy vocals and Carmichael’s incendiary lead guitars, Civet bare their teeth on songs like the brash party anthem, “L.A. Nights” and the angst fueled “Summer of Hate,” and sink their claws into fans with feverous deploy on one of the band’s best written albums yet.
