BAND TO RELEASE 3 TRACK DIGITAL SINGLE FOR NEW SOLUTION ON JANUARY 25

Formed in Nashville, TN-SHIROCK will be kicking off 2011 with the release of Everything Burns (Deluxe), release to include eight new or unreleased tracks, 20 tracks in total, the SHIROCKumentary and the new music video for New Solution. CD will be available on February 22 at all digital outlets on The Movement Group with distribution through RED and specialized marketing efforts via CEN-Creative Entertainment Network.

SHIROCK IS: Chuck Shirock – lead vocals, guitar, Pap Shirock – lead vocals, keys, Adam Gatchel – drums, Kevin Whitsett – bass, Evan Weatherford – lead guitar

Also coming to all digital outlets on January 21 will be a 3 track single for song New Solution, release will include single version, LP version and dance remix produced by KCORIHS.

Already making quite a buzz with their DIY efforts SHIROCK makes music that capitalizes on the transformative power of rock and roll and its ability to move and inspire people. Everything Burns (Deluxe) is filled with bold, anthemic songs that bristle with restless urgency and passionate optimism. You can hear it not only in the sonics — the sweeping melodies, the textured layers of gritty guitars and plaintive keyboards, and Chuck’s fervent wailing vocals — but also in the lyrics, which are rooted in the personal, the political, and the spiritual. Produced by Jay Ruston, who has also worked with The Donnas, Everclear, Matisyahu, and Cold War Kids, Everything Burns (Deluxe) may sound grand and expansive, but underneath the soaring arrangements is a singer/songwriter album at heart, creating an interesting tension that allows the songs to feel both personal and universal.

At the end of 2010 Chuck and Pap partnered with the band’s manager to launch a company called The Movement Group. The Movement Group houses everything SHIROCK does, including the band’s independent record label. The Movement Group has partnered with Sony, RED Distribution and Creative Entertainment Network (CEN) to launch the label division of the company in order to take the songs on Everything Burns to the next level. “We think being independent keeps the art of our music genuine. We form partnerships and friendships that wisely keep us moving forward,” Chuck says. And finally, by the end of 2010 SHIROCK had performed over 100 high school shows. “Historically, young people ignite cultural revolutions. We want to meet our fans as soon as we can in their life journey, and be the soundtrack for them as they seek to impact the world around them.”

Rob Lind speaks out about the reunited Blood For Blood. An official statement.

[ad]
This week, on Thursday December 3rd, Blood For Blood is kicking off their, long awaited, European Tour, as part of the 2010 Persistence Tour. This will mark the first time since 2004 that Blood For Blood fans have been able to see the band live on stage. As previously announced by the band on June 19th 2010 (statement hereunder), Rob Lind decided not to join the rest of the band and Billy Graziadei, from Biohazard, will be filling in for him.

Today Rob Lind wants to share this official statement about not joining Blood For Blood (for now), the future of the band and his relationship with his band mates.

Hello there children!

It’s been long time…

A few months ago it was announced in the press that Blood For Blood would be touring again. Specifically it was announced that BFB would be doing this years annual Persistence Tour in Europe (with Sick Of It All, D.R.I., Unearth, Evergreen Terrace and others). It was also announced that Blood For Blood would be doing this tour and future shows without me.
In absence of a response or statement on my part, there was an immediate deluge of speculation, invective and hostility in reaction to the announcement online and in the scene. And it is ongoing.

Social Distortion Tour

SOCIAL DISTORTION ANNOUNCE JAN/FEB WEST COAST
HARD TIMES TOUR DATES

October 25, 2010 – Los Angeles, CA – Iconic Southern California rock ‘n’ roll band Social Distortion have announced a January/February west coast tour in support of their highly anticipated forthcoming album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, which is scheduled for release on January 18. Touring in support will be Lucero and Chuck Ragan, with The Aggrolites playing select dates. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, October 29 and can be purchased through http://www.socialdistortion.com/tours/.

Social Distortion’s west coast run marks the first time since 2004/2005 the band has done a full tour of the region. The band is currently trekking across the country on a headlining US tour, ripping through classics and previewing songs from their long awaited new studio album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, for diehard fans.

Their first album in over six years, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, builds on singer Mike Ness’ twin footings, one in the haunted American landscapes of Hank Williams and the other in the raw swagger of Exile-era Rolling Stones. While these twin pillars have always been behind Social Distortion’s anthemic songs, on Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes they come roaring to the fore, in one of the hardest rocking, most soulful, albums of Ness’ career. Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes’ first single, “Machine Gun Blues,” will be available for download exclusively through iTunes beginning November 16.
Fans and critics are taking notice as Social Distortion unveils new songs at shows across the country and west coast supporters are chomping at the bit to get in on the action. Don’t miss one of rock ‘n’ roll’s great live bands in a city near you!

TsuShiMaMiRe – North American Tour 2010

Japan’s TsuShiMaMiRe will kick off their North American Tour with self-proclaimed “Japanese Action Comic Punks” Peelander-Z (www.myspace.com/peelanderz) on October 27th at Streetlight Records in San Jose, CA.

Blending elements of punk, Avant Garde, free jazz, ska, surf, and that funky “je ne sais quoi” possessed by many Japanese girl bands, TsuShiMaMiRe consists of Yayoi (bass), Mari (guitar and vocals), and Mizue (drums).

The band was formed in 1999 when the girls were still in college.

Known to many fans through their collaboration with Cartoon Network’s popular television series, Powerpuff Girls on their mini album, Six Mix Girls, TsuShimamire have embarked on six US tours with over 150 live shows performed in the states to date, including an appearance at SXSW.

Whereas Japanese punk bands often prefer to include sing-along, 50s style elements in their songs, TsuShiMaMiRe appears to be informed more by punk, noise, and jazz, and the guitar and bass often engage in wild riff interplay, lending the music a welcome spaciousness that invites repeat listens. Lyrical content is, as we have come to expect from Japanese girl bands, way out there, ranging from songs about how fish paste feels when it is cooked (“Camaboco”) to an imaginary conversation between a newborn baby and its mother (“Pregnant Fantasy”).

TSMMR’s second full-length album, Sex on the Beach, was just released in the states through Good Charamel Records, the indie label run by Robby Takac of Goo Goo Dolls.

Prepare to experience another chapter in the crazy, frenetic world of TsuShiMaMiRe as the band gears up for their upcoming U.S. tour (see dates below.)

TSMMR also contribute two tracks to Good Charamel’s I Love J-Rock compilation where they appear alongside Shonen Knife,  LAZYgunsBRISKY, Molice and DJ Sashimi. I Love J-Rock is available now.

For more information, and to stream portions of TsuShiMaMiRe’s Sex on the Beach, please visit: http://www.goodcharamel.com/?select=artists&data=tsuShiMaMiRe.
