| “The song’s basically about life and love. How we can direct ourselves in a certain direction. Make things better or worse for us every day. But we can’t help to fall in love with someone. It just happens,” says lead singer Matt DeeCRACK. Serious Issues is the follow-up record to the band’s 2017 LP, Sonic Delusions. The band toured relentlessly around the world in support of the album including a month-long European tour with the legendary CJ Ramone. Although these hard-working fellas won’t be able to hit the road amidst the pandemic, they have not lost their DIY spirit and pension for staying active. Instead, the band has refocused their energy and will be releasing multiple music videos and live studio sessions over the next few months to promote the record. Make no mistake about it, DeeCRACKS will be on the road as soon as the pandemic is over so we can safely enjoy these new tunes live! |
New from High End Denim Records – The very first band to sign you can hear their latest singles Jerome and Amelia here! The full EP Bernie Goes To College will be out early December.
Today Philadelphia-based punk band The Menzingers share the music video for the song “Strangers Forever,” a track off the band’s forthcoming record Hello Exile out October 4 via Epitaph. The track is a searing tribute to parting ways, backing their spiky guitars with brilliantly barbed lyrics. “Lyrically, the song is inspired by Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel, ‘Anna Karenina’. In it, the character Darya Alexandrovna learns of her husband’s infidelity and declares: ‘Even if we remain in the same house, we are strangers — strangers forever!’” explains vocalist Greg Barnett. “The idea of becoming a stranger to someone you so intimately know stuck with me and became the overarching narrative to this song.”
New Jersey-based post-emo outfit, Misery Loves Company, has released a brand new single, “Sad Song.” The track follows the band’s previous releases, their debut EP Love Notes and Highways in 2017 and single “Dead Inside” in late 2018. “Sad Song” and the accompanying stream video can be watched on the Revival Recordings YouTube page.
ALKALINE TRIO SHARE TITLE TRACK FROM NEW ALBUM ‘IS THIS THING CURSED?’
BAND’S FIRST STUDIO RECORD IN 5 YEARS DUE OUT AUGUST 31
TOUR BEGINS TONIGHT IN ST. LOUIS

Legendary Chicago punk band Alkaline Trio have released the title track from their forthcoming album Is This Thing Cursed? The ninth studio album from Alkaline Trio, Is This Thing Cursed? is their first new music in five years.
Watch the lyric video for “Is This Thing Cursed?” by Alkaline Trio:
With its soaring vocals and furious intensity, “Is This Thing Cursed?” is the second single to be released from Is This Thing Cursed? Last month Alkaline Trio shared a song called “Blackbird,” which SPIN hailed as a “glossy, pristine pop-punk record that’s anthemic and a bit catchy in its breezy melodies.”
Produced and mixed by Cameron Webb (Pennywise, Motörhead), Is This Thing Cursed? is the first Alkaline Trio album written almost entirely in the studio. According to the band, the album-making process was similar to that of Maybe I’ll Catch Fire—Alkaline Trio’s darkly charged sophomore full-length, a 2000 release featuring the fan favorite “Radio.”
Due out on CD/digital on August 31, Is This Thing Cursed? will be released on vinyl on October 19. Pre-orders are available now at: http://www.alkalinetrio.com

This runs a bit outside the vein of my normal posts, and I’m not entirely sure what to make of this, but it is compelling in a way. I figure there’s always room at the table for things I’m not accustomed to.
Have a look/listen and decide for yourself.
Sordid pop punk artist Krista Papista has just released the visuals for her new single, taking aim at a culture steeped in patriarchal archaism.
The track is the lead single and title-track from her forthcoming, self-produced album which will be released this September. Whilst building up to the release Krista has built a solid social following and caught the attention of i-D, Crack, Wonderland and The Line of Best Fit.
